78th Emmy Award nominations bring new and familiar faces

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – Wednesday morning, the Television Academy announced all the nominees for the 78th Emmy Awards.

Notable names within the nominations include Jamie Lee Curtis, Steve Carell, Lisa Kudrow, Colman Domingo, Claire Danes, Elle and Dakota Fanning, and Michelle Pfeiffer. In addition, new faces Sarah Pidgeon and Connor Storrie were also recognized for their breakout roles.

“The breadth of work recognized this year — from intimate character-driven comedies and satires to fantasy, thrillers and costume dramas — demonstrates that great storytelling knows no bounds. We’re proud to celebrate the artists and craftspeople behind these remarkable achievements and look forward to honoring them at the Emmys this September,” said Television Academy Chair Cris Abrego.

The HBO Original, “Hacks”, set the record for most nominations in the comedy category with 24 nominations. HBO’s other hit show, “The Pitt” lead with 25 nominations in the drama category…
