EDMOND, Okla. (KFOR) – A man was injured Monday morning on an Edmond sidewalk while walking his dogs after he was hit by a juvenile driving an e-bike.
The teenager sped away from the scene, which forced police to originally go looking for what they identified as a 13-to 14-year-old. The incident comes just about a week after Edmond police put out a warning about an increase in reckless riding on e-bikes across town.
Edmond Police Issue an E-Bike Warning
“It was going to happen sooner or later,” said Aniyah Utendahl, a witness to Monday’s crash.
Utendahl said she’s seen her fair share of e-bikes while working near where the wreck happened. She’s an employee of the Sonic Drive-In near the intersection of Thomas Drive and Covell Road.
“They’re popping wheelies in the streets; they’re going really fast, and they have to obey with the traffic laws,” she said…
