OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — The Oklahoma City Council approved an 80,000-square-foot terrazzo floor designed by a local artist and is set to be used in the main concourse of the new Continental Coliseum.
The terrazzo floor, also known as “One Voice. One OKC,” was designed by Oklahoma City artist Matt Goad, who describes it as a monumental visualization of the collective voice of Oklahoma City.
“My goal isn’t for people to walk in and think, ‘That’s a really cool floor’,” said artist Matt Goad, who also designed the terrazzo flooring titled “OKConnected” at OKC Will Rogers International Airport. “My hope is that they experience a remarkable space where the architecture, light, materials, and artwork work together as one. The terrazzo is just one voice in a much larger composition.”
