Oklahoma teachers voice frustration over longer school days

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — Students and teachers across the state are now back in school, but many teachers are feeling “demoralized” after the new school times that went into effect.

In July, Oklahoma City Public Schools (OKCPS) unanimously approved a change to school start and end times, effectively adding 20 minutes to the school day.

This comes after the Oklahoma legislature passed SB 1481 mandating that elementary school students get 40 minutes of recess per day.
