A man was hospitalized with burns and smoke inhalation Tuesday after he tried to put out a fire himself near SW 46th Street and S. Shartel Avenue in southwest Oklahoma City, a blaze that started at the rear of a building before spreading into the kitchen.
Firefighters responded to the area and found the man had been attempting to extinguish the flames before crews arrived, according to News 9. He was treated at the scene before being transported to a nearby hospital. Officials have not released details on his condition, per the same report.
