OKLAHOMA CITY – An Oklahoma City woman has been taken into custody after a drug test revealed her newborn child had several illicit drugs in their system, according to police.
The Oklahoma City Police Department says officers were dispatched on Tuesday to respond to a welfare check at a residence near North Hudson Avenue and West Britton Road. After arriving at the scene, officers say they spoke with Oklahoma Department of Human Services personnel at the scene, who informed police of a child they believed to have been born inside the home.
According to OCPD, the two-week-old child, belonging to Savannah Sniffen, 36, was transported to the hospital after emergency medical personnel at the scene determined the child required hospitalization. Once at the hospital, a blood test was performed, and investigators learned the child’s blood sample tested positive for amphetamines, methamphetamine, cocaine, and fentanyl.
