Nationwide Gatorade recall receives risk warning: FDA

NEW YORK (WPIX) — PepsiCo, Inc. has recalled more than 122,000 cases of Gatorade nationwide over undeclared food colorings, and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has now assigned it a risk level.

The affected products, which include 122,021 cases of 28-ounce bottles of Gatorade Lemon Lime, Gatorade Lemon Lime Zero, Gatorade Orange and Gatorade Orange Zero, were recalled due to undeclared Yellow No. 6 and possibly Yellow No. 5, according to the FDA.

The federal agency assigned the recall as a Class II risk level on Friday, meaning a product may cause “temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences.” The recall was initially announced Sept. 25…
