The Tallest Building in the US Could Be Coming Soon to This Midwest City

The choice of location is a divergence from the cities that are home to the country’s tallest buildings; New York and Chicago dominate when it comes to tall buildings

Move over, New York and Chicago – Oklahoma City may soon be home to the tallest building in the country.

Developer Scot Matteson has recently announced plans to build the tallest building in the United States in Oklahoma City, according to The Oklahoman .

The proposed “Legends Tower” would be a staggering 1,907 feet tall – 131 feet taller than the One World Trade Center’s Freedom Tower in New York, which is the current tallest building in the country.

If built, the Legends Tower would not only be the tallest building in the country, but it would also be the sixth tallest in the world. The Legends Tower would be over twice as tall as the 844-foot Devon Tower, which is the city’s current tallest skyscraper.

The choice of location is a divergence from the cities that are home to the country’s tallest buildings. New York and Chicago dominate when it comes to tall buildings.
