K9 finds suspect hiding under porch after leaving traffic stop, running from crash

OKLAHOMA CITY ( KFOR ) – A stolen vehicle suspect evading a traffic stop was taken into custody after a K9 found him hiding under an Oklahoma City porch following a crash Thursday.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the man was pulled over for reckless driving on the Kilpatrick Turnpike.

He pulled into a restaurant parking lot and gave the trooper his driver’s license.

As the trooper was running the license, the suspect took off.

While trying to escape, the man was involved in a minor wreck.

He abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.

An Oklahoma City Police Department K9 was brought to the scene and discovered the suspect hiding under the back porch of a nearby home.

“Turns out, the vehicle he was driving was stolen,” said OHP.

The man was taken into custody without further incident.
