Carmelo Anthony gives props to Sam Presti for doing a great job in OKC: “I wish a lot of GMs and Presidents had that type of energy”

Carmelo Anthony played only one season in Oklahoma City. But in that one year with the Thunder, Melo felt how great things were being done there by GM Sam Presti and the management.

Despite his short tenure there, Anthony says that Thunder is the best-run organization in the NBA when it comes to understanding the needs of players and how to communicate with them while also holding them accountable.

“He has no ill intentions in any of this,” Melo said of Presti during the latest episode of his 7PM in Brooklyn Podcast. “He wants what’s best for the player and he really cares about what the fu** goes on. I wish a lot of GMs and Presidents had that type of energy when it comes to running the organization.”

Presti gave them their marks

Melo said when he came to OKC, there was no culture there. It was just that group deciding to bring a little flare and a lot of swag to their tenure with the Thunder. Presti understood what they were trying to do and worked with them to achieve the goal. But he did so by giving each of them their targets.
