GOLDSBY, Okla. ( KFOR ) — One couple’s wedding nightmare is a nightmare no more. Their wedding venue suddenly shut its doors , leaving the family out thousands of dollars. However, the family is sharing an update with News 4’s In Your Corner team.
“Until we got the actual check in our hands, you know… [we felt] cautious. Cautious happiness, I guess. But we were very excited,” said Tracy Wilkinson, the mother of the bride.
Wedding venue suddenly closes, leaving bride out thousands
The Wilkinson family felt stuck a few weeks ago after getting a message that their wedding venue was suddenly shutting down.
They were unsure if they would even get the money back in their pocket.
“I thought for sure this was never going to happen. I thought the money was gone,” said Chuck Wilkinson, the father of the bride.
Fast forward to February and that cloud of worry is no longer hanging over their head.
“They sent one saying that we were getting a refund,” said Megan Wilkinson, the bride.
The family got an email from the Southwind Hills wedding venue a couple weeks after our News 4 team first spoke with them.
