Evacuation ordered on OU campus over ‘suspicious package’

Law enforcement has given the all clear.

NORMAN, Okla. (KFOR) – Authorities issued an immediate evacuation of Gaylord Hall at the University of Oklahoma over what they call a suspicious package.

The following message was sent to OU students and staff:

“OU-NORMAN Emergency 1:17 p.m. Suspicious package Norman Campus reported near Asp Ave. east of Gaylord Hall. Avoid the area.”

There is a sign in front of the sculpture. The sign that is in front of the items has been up for a few days. The concrete box is new and that is what police are investigating.

The bomb squad sent in a robot to investigate the items.
