‘It Shows How Good We Are as a Team’: Thunder Set to Have Four Representatives at All-Star Weekend

Four different members of the Oklahoma City Thunder will be representing the franchise over the course of All-Star weekend as Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Williams, Chet Holmgren and Cason Wallace each will be in different events over the weekend.

Gilgeous-Alexander, of course, is an All-Star starter for the Western Conference has he continues to build a MVP campaign over the course of the season. The 25-year-old is averaging 31.1 points per game in 34.5 minutes per game, adding 5.5 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 2.2 steals per game.

While Gilgeous-Alexander is the only All-Star for the Thunder — which shouldn’t be the case for long — the other three players at All-Star weekend are competing in the Rising Stars games. Holmgren and Williams both have the potential to return to All-Star weekend in the near future, only doing so in All-Star jerseys rather than Rising Stars jerseys.

On the season, Williams is averaging 19.2 points per game on 54 percent efficiency in the middle of a season that feels like an ascension to becoming an All-Star. Holmgren provides a two-way impact that raises the Thunder’s ceiling substantially. Both have incredible potential, but Wallace being a rising star shows just how much depth and potential the Thunder has as a team.
