New details in Sequoyah County double murder case

SEQUOYAH COUNTY, Okla. ( KFOR ) — On June 14, El Reno officers responded to a report of an unattended death.

El Reno Police confirmed the victim died from a gunshot wound. The man was identified as 56-year-old Phillip Emerson.

Asst. Chief Kirk Dickerson from El Reno Police Department said the victim and the suspect knew each other.

The suspect is 50-year-old Stacy Lee Drake from Alabama.

“We will have witnesses that will come by, I’m sure, to offer testimony at some point during the legal process,” Asst. Chief Dickerson says.

Investigators say after shooting Emerson, Drake stole his car and drove to Eastern Oklahoma.

While there, court documents out of Sequoyah County reveal the suspect shot and killed two people in Gans, Oklahoma.

They were later identified as Tara Underwood and Taylor Sharp.
