YUKON, Okla. ( KFOR ) — Two people were arrested in Yukon for child neglect and possession of a controlled substance. Police said the couple and their three kids were found in a Walmart parking lot after they got a call from a concerned person.

“Our officers arrived on scene. They found three kids and an adult who was a parent of the three kids,” said Major Zach Roberson, Yukon Police Department.

Officers said they learned the car was broken and the family slept in the car overnight.

They asked the children’s mother, Brianna Findley, to call a family member for help.

Police said they started asking more questions and got a hint that something wasn’t right, especially with the kids.

“They noticed that the kid was lethargic, kind of had some shallow breathing. They go to inspect or kind of talk to the child, not responding,” said Roberson.

That’s when police asked where Brianna’s husband, Damien, was sitting. Brianna responded and said he was around.
