Halftime observations for the Oklahoma Sooners’ first game against the Temple Owls

The Oklahoma Sooners played their first-ever game as an SEC team but against a non-conference team the Temple Owls. And, man, it was a good showing in some areas and a bad showing in others.

Let’s keep in mind, this is the first game of the year and there is no preseason like there is in the NFL. These guys have been playing against each other every day, so there will be some rust. Therefore, let’s hold the overreactions after the first week of football because this one game doesn’t determine if they will win or lose the National Championship, or heck, even make it there for that matter.

But, the first half was one to look at for sure, and there are some observations to take away.


Deion Burks is good, like really good

I think this one is obvious. He has three touchdowns in the first half and no one can guard him or stay in front of him. Burks has found the end zone three times and every time he was either wide open or made one hell of a catch. And, you can tell that all of that will translate over to SEC play because he has the tools to do so. He’s a freak.
