A good team culture could lead to some of the most prosperous times for a franchise. The Oklahoma City Thunder is familiar with success, as they have been to the NBA Finals in the early 2010s. The team was even a contender until 2016, but when Kevin Durant left, they were only an early postseason team at best.
This current iteration of the Thunder has been fun to watch, and it is evident that the players themselves are enjoying each other’s presence. Aaron Wiggins gave the fans a glimpse into the franchise’s culture and why he loves playing for OKC.
“Being with a group of guys who buy into each other’s personalities and get along with each other the way that we did, I don’t think that’s something that you come by a lot regardless of what level you play at,” Wiggins said in his exit interview for the 2023/24 season. “We just all kind of accept each other for who we are as individuals, and we tie it into how we can help each other on the court.”
