Ole Miss HC Lane Kiffin subtly disses Sooners’ new interim offensive coordinator but he isn’t wrong

The Ole Miss Rebels , despite losing the two games they have lost this year, are one of the best teams in the country this year. And, that’s bad news for the Oklahoma Sooners , who just lost in blowout fashion to a bad South Carolina team.

Now, with some major changes made to the offensive side of the ball, the Sooners are trying to get a big-time win in Oxford, Mississippi.

But, there is a bit of familiarity on both sides. While this is the first time the two are playing one another in an SEC matchup, some of the coaches on both staffs are very familiar with each other.

One of the big changes that the Sooners made this week was the firing of the offensive coordinator, Seth Littrell, and the promotion of both Joe John Finley. and Kevin Johns to have some play-calling duties in the future for the rest of the season. That won’t change how the offense will look much, at least for this week, and the offense definitely won’t magically be fixed in just this one week.

Finley was previously at Ole Miss as a tight end coach. On Monday, Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin was asked if that helps knowing anything about Oklahoma’s offense and what to expect. It came off as a subtle diss, but really, it’s true.
