Standing on a pathway in the Myriad Botanical Gardens , The Grinch craned his neck to try to see the tip-top of the Devon tower as it gleamed silver on a recent sunny Oklahoma City afternoon.
“It’s nearly as tall as Mount Crumpit. Of course, if this were Mount Crumpit, I would be in a cave at the very, very top, having a great old time up there. I think, yeah, Mount Crumpit is a touch bigger. But you guys are second fiddle, that’s for sure. That’s great. That’s wonderful,” he practically gushed.
Famously known as “A Mean One,” The Grinch proved a surprisingly cheerful companion as he and I took a leisurely walk through the popular downtown OKC park on a mild autumn afternoon. The frisky Oklahoma breeze ruffled his famously green fur as he greeted shocked and delighted passersby with a mischievous grin and a cheeky, “Oh, hello, great to see me. How are you?” He happily paused to take photos with eager fans, including a newly married couple posing for portraits on the scenic Meinders Garden Terrace .
