The Oklahoma Sooners didn’t have much of a bright spot on offense during their loss to the Missouri Tigers . With a final score of 3-23, in favor of the Sooners’ old rival. The Sooners’ defense was responsible for seven of those points, with the offense only, really, being responsible for seven as well. The rest were special teams.
So, while 23 points are the most they have scored against a non-FCS school since the Auburn game, the offense still wasn’t great.
But, there was one aspect of the offense that was amazing, and, it may not get talked about enough like it should. But, that’s what happens when you don’t win the game. Had they won the game, we would still be talking about the ” Xavier Robinson drive” today, and maybe all throughout the bye week.
“He was fantastic,” Brent Venables said of freshman running back Xavier Robinson. “He was kind of building off of what he showed last week as well. He got in and did well early on those early snaps that he got in, so I just went with him because he was running through trash, had good instincts, ran well behind his pads, broke a lot of tackles, and really helped us move the ball down the field to score.”
