MOORE, Okla. (TCN) — Police arrested a 39-year-old woman for allegedly giving her daughter away to a man selling her meth in 2022 and lying to authorities regarding the girl’s whereabouts.
According to KOCO-TV, Ashley Rowland reportedly told Moore Police Department officers recently that she traded her 2-year-old daughter, whose location is unknown, to her drug dealer for meth. She allegedly claimed the man’s name is Carlos, and she has seen neither Carlos nor her daughter since April 2022 when Rowland allegedly gave the girl away. She said Carlos could be the girl’s father, but she wasn’t fully certain about it. She reportedly could not describe any of Carlos’ specific characteristics or provide much of a description.
Rowland reportedly believed Carlos traveled back to Mexico.
KFOR-TV reports Department of Human Services officials located Rowland in Moore and asked where her daughter was, and Rowland allegedly claimed she was “with her father in Georgia.” Investigators interrogated Rowland again, and she reportedly provided a different answer.
