OTA caught in a lie: they never pay off construction bonds, ever
The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority (OTA) that exists today is not your Grandpa’s OTA.
Grammy and Gramps may have had fond memories of driving down the scenic Turner Turnpike on their way to Tulsa, and points beyond. A new, wide, easy way to travel long distances without spending a lot of money; what was not to like?
Sadly, that was then, and this is now. Today, the OTA is more like a crime cartel, run by scammers, hucksters and hitmen. Events over the past few years have revealed their true nature. Beholden to cabals of developers, contractors, bankers and politicians, they are part of the new “development at any cost” corporate welfare movement who only care about money, and they do not care who they hurt to get what they want.
WHY NORMAN?
The OTA sees Norman as its salvation to save Oklahoma’s flailing turnpike system. With only three of their 11 turnpikes actually making money, OTA looks to future tollroads in the Norman area, as part of their “ACCESS Oklahoma” project, to prop up the house of cards they have built.
