Oklahoma’s Best Chuck Wagon Festival Scheduled For May 24-25

Some of the best cobbler, beans and cornbread you will ever have in Oklahoma is fresh from a chuck wagon. And you can experience delicious authentic cowboy cooking and much more at the annual Chuck Wagon Festival hosted by the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City.

This year’s Chuck Wagon Festival will take place May 24-25 at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum, located at 1700 Northeast 63rd Street in Oklahoma City. The festival is a celebration of western and Native American history, art and cuisine, and is a fun time for families and foodies.

The annual Chuck Wagon Festival this year will feature the following:

  • Samples from authentic chuck wagons that will be serving traditional cowboy cooking.
  • Attendees can explore Liichokoshkomo, which is the museum’s interactive outdoor addition that showcases the diversity of the West with inter-tribal native dwellings.
  • Attendees can also explore the museum’s pioneer village with interactive natural history displays.
  • Native American food samples will also be available and attendees can visit with the chef to learn more about the histories and traditions of native foods.
  • The festival will also feature artisan demonstrations, western reenactors, craft stations, live music and more.
