At least six detainees have died at the Oklahoma City Detention Center since the beginning of 2024, with causes of death ranging from drug overdoses, suspected homicides, and possible suicide.
Each in-custody death is initially investigated as a homicide until the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s Office determines the official cause.
