Downtown Oklahoma City road closures begin ahead of Festival of the Arts

OKLAHOMA CITY ( KFOR ) — Road closures in downtown Oklahoma City begin Friday in preparation for the Festival of the Arts , which will take place later this month.

The 59th annual Festival of the Arts is just two weeks away, and set up for the event has begun, with temporary road closures in place from April 11 until May 5.

“We can’t wait to welcome thousands of visitors to the Festival this year and want to ensure that everyone can access the event with ease,” said Angela Cozby, Executive Director of Arts Council Oklahoma City. “We encourage attendees to plan ahead, utilize alternative transportation options, and be aware of the road closures in effect during this period.”

Festival of the Arts is scheduled to take place on April 24 and runs until April 27 in Bicentennial Park.

  • Thursday, April 24: 11 a.m. – 9 p.m.
  • Friday, April 25: 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.
  • Saturday, April 26: 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.
  • Sunday, April 27: 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Road closures include :

Walker Avenue

  • Northbound from Colcord Drive to Robert S. Kerr Avenue. Southbound from Robert S. Kerr Avenue to Main Street. City Hall and the Arts District Garage will be accessible from Walker Avenue and Latting Circle.

Lee Avenue

  • Northbound from Main Street to Couch Drive with alley access. Northbound and southbound lanes from Colcord Drive to Couch Drive.

Colcord Drive

  • Eastbound from Shartel Avenue to Walker Avenue.

Couch Drive

  • Westbound from Walker Avenue to Lee Avenue. Eastbound to Hudson Avenue.
