In drought-stricken Oklahoma, expect summer to be hotter than normal: See what NWS predicts

The high temperatures Oklahoma has been feeling this spring is an early preview for summer, which will probably be hotter than normal.

The jet stream weather pattern over the United States will make Saturday and Sunday hot and windy, with highs nearing or reaching 90 degrees across Oklahoma. Those conditions will also raise the chance of fire weather to elevated or near-critical levels.

After a brief cold front arriving on Sunday, temperatures will rise again in the middle of next week, according to the National Weather Service.
