I can remember going to home demonstration club meetings with my mom and meeting ladies within the community when I was a little girl. The first home demonstration clubs were organized in 1910 and were known as tomato and canning clubs. Each girl was asked to grow a 10th of an acre of tomatoes and to can the tomatoes produced.
