Residents escape safely as lightning-sparked fire hits Oklahoma City home

OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) — A house fire in Oklahoma City was sparked by a lightning strike on Thursday evening, according to Battalion Chief Jeff Chappell of the Oklahoma City Fire Department.

The fire, which began around 6 pm, was caused when lightning hit the chimney, spreading flames to the roof and into the attic.
