Oklahoma Weather Alert: Flood Watch Remains Through Saturday

Oklahoma City, OK – A summer weather alert remains in place for Oklahoma City as widespread thunderstorms continue through Saturday, raising concerns about urban flooding and dangerous driving conditions.

According to the National Weather Service in Norman, a Flood Watch is active until Saturday afternoon for central, north-central, and southern Oklahoma, including Oklahoma City. Rainfall rates could exceed one inch per hour in localized storms, pushing creeks, streams, and storm drains to capacity. Areas along I-44 and I-35 may be especially prone to ponding and flash flooding during peak downpours.
