OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA. (KOKH) — Today is Juneteenth, the national recognition of the end of slavery in the United States, and celebrations are scheduled across the state.
The end of slavery and the struggle for equality were celebrated in Texas after all slaves were said to be free on June 19, 1865.
