Oklahoma City Police Report That Speeding Tops 177 Traffic Stops in Local Safety Operation

The Oklahoma City Police took to social media today to provide an update on their latest traffic safety operation. According to the Oklahoma City Police Department post, there were a total of 177 contacts made with drivers. Speeding continues to be the leading reason for stops with the police flagging down 125 drivers for exceeding the speed limit.

Additional infractions included a series of other violations, with the Oklahoma City Police citing 22 incidents of illegal tag display, 17 cases of motorists driving without insurance, and 13 instances of seat belt violations. Meanwhile, reports of improper turn/lane changes resulted in 11 stops and there were 7 other types of violations. The enforcement also caught 5 individuals disregarding signal lights, and another 5 who were driving without a state-issued driver’s license.

The Oklahoma City Police’s crackdown serves as a wider effort to promote road safety and reduce the rates of vehicular accidents within the city.
