One in custody after deadly shooting in SW Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – One person has been arrested following a deadly shooting Tuesday afternoon, police say.

According to the Oklahoma City Police Department, officers responded to a home in the 2500 block of SW 45th St. around 3:15 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found the victim, 44-year-old Edwin Jelinek. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died.

Officials say the suspect, 32-year-old Patrick Herrera, left in a burgundy vehicle which was later found by officers. After a brief pursuit, Herrera was taken into custody and booked into jail on a murder complaint.
