Jail Trust hints at dissolution; performance review will take place to study viability

OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) — Bed bug infestations, failed health inspections, staff misconduct and a troubling number of deaths have plagued the Oklahoma County Detention Center since the Oklahoma County Criminal Justice Authority Trust took over operations five years ago.

At a meeting on Friday, Steven Buck, the Chairman of the Trust, recommended a performance review of the Trust to see if it was still viable.

The performance review will be conducted by Oklahoma County Commissioners and could end with the dissolution of the Trust. Trust members voted unanimously for the performance review to take place…
