First OK Task Force team sent to Texas for flooding search, back home

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — Oklahoma Task Force 1 primary operation has wrapped up in Central Texas after a two-week operation to support flood-related needs.

On July 5, the Oklahoma City Metro deployed a six-member team for a swift water response in Texas. The need came in the aftermath of devastating and catastrophic flooding in the Hill Country, that’s seen over a hundred deaths and caused billions of dollars in property damage.

The rescue team was made up of four members from the Oklahoma City Fire Department, one member from the Yukon Fire Department, and one member from the Norman Fire Department. Simultaneously, a six-person crew from Tulsa was also deployed to help bolster mutual aid numbers. A second, seven-person, Oklahoma City Metro team followed shortly after, made up of Oklahoma City Fire, Oklahoma City Police, and Mustang Fire members…
