Plans to build a new MAPS 4 crisis center in northeast Oklahoma City also mean that the local Lottie House, a peer-run drop-in center for people experiencing homelessness and mental illness, will need to find a new home.
Mental Health Association Oklahoma, the nonprofit managing the current facility at 1311 N. Lottie Ave., said Lottie House is relocating in the coming months because of what the MAPS 4 program plans to do with the land.
The nonprofit has four full-time staff members operating Lottie House, which also is leased from and funded by the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services. But before the department can provide the site to the city for MAPS use, Mental Health Association CEO Carrie Blumert said both the current Oklahoma County Crisis Intervention Center and the adjacent Lottie House would have to be demolished…
