Man convicted of killing victim because he allegedly believed he was having an affair with his wife

OKLAHOMA CITY (TCN) — A 32-year-old man was recently convicted of fatally shooting a 20-year-old victim on a college campus over an alleged affair.

The Oklahoma County District Attorney’s Office said in an Aug. 28 news release that a jury found Brandon Morrissette guilty of first-degree murder and possession of a firearm on school property in connection with the death of Robenie “R.J.” Long on the campus of Rose State College. Morrissette is scheduled to be sentenced on Oct. 14. The jury recommended a life sentence without the possibility of parole for murder.

Prosecutors said Morrissette shot Long seven times outside the humanities building on campus on April 24, 2023, and the victim died at the scene. According to KOTV-TV, Morrissette believed Long was having an affair with his wife, but she alleged that Long was only a friend and classmate…
