Oklahoma Route 66 Association launches ‘Flat Will’ leading up to Route 66 Centennial

OKLAHOMA (KOKH) — The Oklahoma Route 66 Association has launched “Flat Will,” an interactive initiative allowing travelers to take a piece of Will Rogers’ legacy on their journeys along Route 66 and beyond.

This project comes as part of the preparations for the Route 66 Centennial in 2026 and plays off of the children’s book series Flat Stanley.

Rhys Martin, president of the Association, highlighted Rogers’ impact on early 20th-century pop culture. “From rodeo to radio, from vaudeville to Hollywood, and in newspapers across the country he was a familiar voice that people welcomed into their lives,” Martin said. “His wit and wisdom brought people together across thousands of miles, regardless of background or circumstance.”…
