OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA (KOKH) — Firefighters responded to a house fire early Friday morning near northeast 36th Street and N Westminster Road. The one person who was in the home was able to evacuate before emergency crews arrived.
When firefighters arrived, they saw heavy flames coming from the back roofline of the residence. Initial suppression efforts were underway when firefighters had to evacuate due to a partial roof collapse. Joist beams prevented a full collapse. Crews shifted to a defensive strategy, approaching the fire from outside until it was safe to re-enter.
Oklahoma Gas & Electric secured the utilities, and fire investigators are working to determine the cause. A lightning strike is being considered as a possible factor…
