Oklahoma City, Okla. — As the Oklahoma State Fair prepares to open its gates, security measures are being heightened to ensure the safety of all attendees.
Scott Munz, who has been involved with the fair for over 35 years, emphasized the importance of safety, stating, “We have a very good relationship with the Oklahoma Police Department who takes the lead on the security out here. We have a good relationship with the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office. They’re out here also in force. We have our security detail we hire. We have our own property security.”
High-volume scanners have been installed at every entrance to prevent weapons from entering the fairgrounds. “They’re continuous motion scanners, and they’re intended for people to walk through at a normal pace,” Munz said…
