OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — With construction costs skyrocketing and federal funds running out, the Oklahoma Department of Transportation is delaying or removing dozens of road projects from its updated eight-year work plan.
ODOT says, despite having about $2.5 billion a year to work with, that money simply doesn’t stretch as far as it used to. Inflation has eaten into the agency’s buying power, meaning fewer roads can be built for the same price.
