‘Disastrous’: Some Head Start programs to be impacted by government shutdown

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (KOKH) — Head Start programs receive federal funding and provide education for children ages 5 years and younger.

FOX 25 is told programs in Oklahoma could be impacted if the federal government shutdown is not resolved.

“A world without Head Start or a world where those centers close or programs are having to shut down at least temporarily would still be disastrous for families and their children,” said Curtiss Mays, Oklahoma President for the Head Start Directors Association…
