A military aircraft made an emergency landing in southeast Oklahoma City on Thursday with no injuries reported. The incident involved an Air Force OA-1K Skyraider II, which came down near SE 119th and Sooner Road during a routine training mission, according to News Channel 8. The Oklahoma National Guard confirmed that a U.S. Air Force member and a civilian contractor were on board.
Matthew Topchian, a local driver, captured video of the aircraft’s descent as it clipped power lines, causing a small fire, KOCO reported. The Oklahoma City Fire Department responded quickly, with spokesperson Scott Douglas confirming both individuals on board were uninjured.
Air & Space Forces Magazine reported that the aircraft belongs to the U.S. Air Force’s 492nd Special Operations Wing and was flying from Will Rogers Air National Guard Base.
