JONES, Okla. (KFOR) — As SNAP benefits are paused across the country with the federal Government Shutdown still going on, many small businesses are stepping up to help the community by opening food pantries.
The most recent shop to open a pantry is Luxe Coffee Co. in Jones.
“We have both at some point in our life, been there, like most people have. So she was like, ‘Hey, this is what we need to do,’” said Amber Carrell, the manager at Luxe Coffee Co. Luxe Coffee Co. is lending a helping hand to those in need, all from their coffee shop. They’re calling it the Luxe Cares Food Pantry.
