Yukon Police are asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect in an overnight shooting Friday in a neighborhood near Sara Road and Hwy 66 on the city’s east side.
A juvenile male – who has not been identified – was taken to a local hospital after sustaining injuries in a shooting that occurred in the street.
Yukon police officers responded shortly around midnight Nov. 7 to the 1300 block of Von Elm after the victim called 911 dispatch to report he had been shot. While the cause remains under investigation, police say the shooting was not accidental.
“We do believe there was some sort of transaction [possibly purchase of a cell phone] set to take place,” Yukon Police Maj. Curtis Lemmings said Friday afternoon. “We are unclear what events led up to the victim being shot at this time. We’re continuing to follow leads…
