EDMOND, Okla. – Edmond police have arrested a metro attorney accused of stalking a 16-year-old girl.
Events leading up to the arrest
Authorities say the attorney, David Spielman, pursued the teen relentlessly after following her to work last month, forcing officers and the court to intervene. The girl told police on Oct. 26 she was working at a retail store near South Broadway and East 12th Street when Spielman confronted her in the parking lot. Spielman, who had previously tried to interact with her in traffic, shouted, “I saw you driving earlier,” according to reports. Afraid, the girl said she lied about her name and denied working at the store when Spielman questioned her. Police say he returned later and, spotting her behind the counter, told the store’s manager the girl had lied to him about her job. Court filings show that days later, Spielman returned to the store on Oct. 29 and left a dinner invitation for the girl with an associate.
