Pay increases coming soon for elected officials after commission reportedly approves massive salary bumps

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — The Statewide Official Compensation Commission approved hefty pay raises for a handful of elected state officials on Wednesday, as first reported by NonDoc.

NonDoc described the meetings as chaotic and confusing, as board members decided that some elected positions, like the state superintendent of public instruction, would receive double the pay come the next election, bumping the salary from $124,373 to $250,000.

“It sounds like from the discussions that were going on yesterday, some of them came in not having as much perspective as they needed to have about the various positions where they were discussing salaries,” said State Rep. Andy Fugate (D-Del City).

NonDoc reports that the insurance commissioner the state treasurer will be getting a pay raises of over $60,000 while the attorney general and the corporation commissioners will receive pay raises of $50,000 or more…
