Oklahoma mother seeks resentencing under Survivors’ Act after killing boyfriend

NORMAN, Okla. (KFOR) — An Oklahoma mother is fighting for freedom after being in prison for the last five years.

The Oklahoma Appleseed Center for Law and Justice recently filed an application for sentencing relief on behalf of Keabreauna “Keke” Boyd, a domestic violence survivor serving a life sentence (with all but the first 20 years suspended) following a 2021 second-degree murder conviction.

The application is filed under the Oklahoma Survivors’ Act, allowing courts to revisitsentences for survivors whose abuse was a substantial contributing factor in their criminalconvictions…
