Norman police arrest two after attempted robbery leads to shooting, man critically injured

NORMAN, Okla. (KFOR) — Police arrested two people after an attempted robbery overnight Tuesday in Norman led to a shooting and critically injured a 41-year-old man.

Officers with the Norman Police Department responded to a reported shooting just before 1 a.m. on Tuesday near East Imhoff Road. When police arrived, they found a 41-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the head. He was transported to a local hospital and is currently in critical condition.

During an investigation, officers learned that 48-year-old Jeremy Payne and 28-year-old Brandy Webb had planned to rob the 41-year-old victim. During the attempted robbery, shots were fired, striking the victim in the head, according to authorities.
