ODOC launches news visitation unit, visitor application program

OKLAHOMA — The Oklahoma Department of Corrections announced the creation of its dedicated Visitation Unit that will oversee a new visitation application and scheduling process.

ODOC said the new unit will be available starting Dec. 1.

“With the size of our incarcerated population, visitation has always been a cumbersome process for families and ODOC staff,” said ODOC Director Justin Farris. “We heard the complaints and knew we needed a more efficient process to better serve those in our care and their loved ones. By creating this specialized unit, it allows facility staff to focus on their duties and reduces repetitive tasks that interfere with their daily responsibilities.”…
