Oklahoma City gas prices dip to $1.99 as analysts expect short-term drop

OKLAHOMA CITY – A few gas stations in the Oklahoma City metro are now selling fuel for $1.99 a gallon, a rare price analysts say may stick around briefly but is unlikely to last through the long term.

Matt McClain, a petroleum analyst with GasBuddy, said Oklahoma’s gas prices have fallen faster than much of the country, with several stations breaking the $2 mark for the first time in years.

“Congratulations, Oklahoma City,” McClain said. “You’ve managed to pull in sub-$2 a gallon for the first time in a very long time.”
